Depends: It depends on the indication. Usually if prescribed post stroke, one stays on clopidogrel indefinitely unless there are severe side effects. Some physicians prescribe it for few weeks or months and then switch to some other medication (aspirin, for example). Please ask your doctor what was the indication.
