A member asked:

I have a coke (the drink not the drug) addiction and have tried to give it up but the withdrawals are really bad any ideas on how to ease these?

Progressive plan: Work with your doctor to develop a plan. Giving up the sugary, tasty, caffeinated treat is tough. Keep in mind the benefits of your goal, track when the cravings are worst and have competing healthy behaviors (like ice-water) readily available. You can do it, you doc can help!

Caffeine : Start by cutting in half the amount of caffeine you get by substituting a caffeine free version of the coke. Taper off that way.
