I burnt my bottom lip on food. my lip formed a boil for a few days then a white scab appeared. the scab disappeared but reappeared again (size of a pencil eraser). the swelling is down but white scab remains - what can i do and what does this mean?

Oral herpes?: One possibility is oral herpes. Do you have a past history of cold sores? In people infected with HSV1, often without previous symptoms, an injury to the face -- especially the lips -- can trigger an outbreak. Discuss it with your doctor.
