Probably not: Maybe severe immune suppression from cancer chemotherapy, bone marrow or organ transplants......maybe. But in no way chronic stress. The only way you can have a false negative HIV test when you actually have HIV, is if you had the test too early: within days or weeks of becoming infected, this is called the "window period". Test again in 12 weeks to be sure.

Agree with Dr.: Stress will not affect test results. Do also agree that you should repeat the test at 3-6 months after potential exposure. Wish you good health!
