Concern: If you think you might have and infection that is causing the bleeding then be seen. Some irregularity can happen. Stress, activity can all be a factor. I would not be concerned with a one time episode. If this would be a regular monthly issue then I would be seen.

Irregular period ?: If you have had regular monthly periods, and pregnancy is possible, obtain a serum HCG test to be sure of pregnancy, as bleeding can occur with pregnancy outside the uterus (ectopic). If the test is positive , see your gyn physician as soon as possible.
