Plague definition: The term plague is usually used for infectious, epidemic bacterial disease caused by Yersinia pestis. COVID -19 is a viral illness. Per Dictionary.Com a looser definition is "an epidemic disease that causes high mortality; pestilence." So, it isn't technically the Plague.
