Some uncertainty: COVID 19 orginated in Wuhan, China. It's believed that SARS-CoV may have originated from Chinese Horseshoe bats (Rhinolophidae). It was identified as a "betacoronavirus belonging to a new clade in subgenus Sarbecovirus in the Orthocoronavirinae subfamily". REF: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7086482/ It came from nature although some people wonder if it was released from labs.
