Yes but rarely: Although so far the strain of the virus that is infecting people seems to be specific for humans (in addition to the animal species that brought it to humans in the first place), in theory, pets can be infected if exposed to large quantity of the human virus (coughed/sneezed around them). Even if they don't become sick, in the latter scenario, virus may be carried in their fur for a few hours..

COVID19: There have been animals (cats, dogs, lions and tigers) that have tested positive for COVID 19. The virus may live on their hair for a short period of time. However, at this point, there is no evidence that these animals are able to transmit the virus to humans.
