Noses bleed sometime: Nosebleeds can be due to many things that cause one of the little veins on the inside of the nose (usually the middle septum) to crack and leak temporarily. Heavy breathing in sports, hot air, cold air, allergies, nose-picking, colds, etc... are some of the causes of nosebleeds. She who bleeds "too often" or "too long" can have her blood checked to see if her blood is clotting too slowly.

Several factors: It would help to know your age & if you take any type of blood thinners (including aspirin) or if you have high blood pressure (all these can make bleeding more likely). Most bleeding will stop with ice pack & firm pressure for 5 minutes by the clock, but helpful to put Vaseline or antibiotic ointment in the nose twice a day for a few days to keep the dry membranes moist

Additional advice: Irregular sleep is not known to be a cause of nosebleeds. The most common cause of nosebleed is trauma to those veins from picking the nose with your finger, so do avoid that. If this is a rare occurrence, you should not worry. But if you have frequent nose bleeds over time, not just this episode, then you should see your GP or an ENT who might then also those blood clotting tests mentioned above
