If you survived covid 19, can you get it again?

Not known: If immunity from coronavirus is like influenza, you won't get it again. However, this virus is new so it is not known if or how long the immunity might last.

Uncertain: Theoretically, it was assumed by many that you would not get re-infected with the same virus once you had already recovered from a COVID 19 infection. However, that assumption has been called into question since individuals in Korea who had recovered and tested negative for virus, later tested positive. Testing was by PCR (polymerase chain reaction) testing. So, we don't know.
