Never tried it!: I doubt it. Seems like a strange way to try to clear your sinuses, which i believe would be highly unpredictable. Try a simple nasal saline spray from the pharmacy. If you still experience problems, see an ear, nose, and throat specialist to evaluate your sinuses further.
