A member asked:

Under urigynecologist supervision, i am using boric acid suppositories for recurrent bv. my period is delayed now. can this be the cause. urigynecologist says it should not. period is never late. not pregnant ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Delayed period ?'s: Delays in menstruation at age 39 and beyond can be caused by ovulation delays, which delay menstruation for fourteen days after this event. As one ages, it takes more ovarian stimulation to cause ovulation, leading to later periods. Boric acid suppositories will not cause a delay of menstruation.
