Possible allergies: It sounds like possible allergies.I don’t know what over the counter medications you tried,but if you have allergies,you may get relief from one of the long acting antihistamines such as loratadine or fexofenadine.Fluticasone nasal spray is also often used for allergies.If these don’t help, please see your doctor for an examination to make sure it is not something else and/or recommend other meds.

URI: A viral upper respiratory tract infection is likely in view of your throat symptoms, although an allergy may be the problem. I recommend gargling with warm salt water and/or sucking on zinc lozenges recommended by your pharmacist. Use a nasal decongestant spray and to cover you for allergies, take an antihistamine.
