Covid-19 risk: Keep 6 ft away and wear a mask. Ask you office mate if he has a fever, cough or shortness of breath. These are the most common symptoms but doesn't confirm that he has it.

Sick office mate: You could point out to a person with an obvious respiratory illness that they are putting their office mates health at risk. You could ask your supervisor to intervene. Maintain at least a 6 ft distance from that person & wear a mask. Wash your hands often or sanitize them. Clean your desk top & items. In the age of COVID 19, it is more than fair to ask others to abide by the Golden Rule.
