Doctor can evaluate: In an older teen, upper tummy gas pain can be from acid pains, such as stomach gastritis or reflux (heartburn). An infection with H. pylori bacteria can lead to stomach ulcer pains too. One needs evaluation by her primary care doctor. Stomach flu, rib problems, pancreatitis, gallstones, etc., also can cause pain. With diarrhea, stomach flu virus or food poisoning bacteria are possible causes.
