See doctor to clear: There are several things that can cause this, and it would be worth seeing a doctor while the sores are present. If you have ever had sex, even if its been a while, a viral cause such as herpes is possible. If not, other causes can be staph infections, fungal infections such as jock itch, or cyst problems like hydradenitis. Staph infections can get bad quickly and need antibiotics, so see a doc!

Folliculitis: What you describe sounds like folliculitis, a common problem of the groin area. It's inflammation of the hair follicles. Sweating and shaving can increase tha chance of having folliculitis. Molluscum contagiosum can also occur in the area but are generally considered to be sexually transmitted when located in the groin. They are quite contagious and squeezing them is a great way to spread them.
