The basics: The main effect of the hormones in the pill is to prevent egg release.No egg=no pregnancy. If you skip 3 days the hormone level may fall enough to let an egg release= possible pregnancy if exposed to sperm. If you use backup BC you can avoid conception. Discuss the situation with your doc. This interruption may be considered as needing you to start over.
