Seldom cures: The otc products will often cure a skin lesion with tinea (ringworm).However, since the tinea getts into the hair root when it infests the scalp, the lotion or cream you put on top of the skin is not likely to go deep enough to kill it.They will reduce shedding of the germ and spread to others, but most cases require an oral anti-fungal given over an extended period for a cure.
