High Blood Pressure: Controlling high BP only with diet is sometimes difficult. Foods that should be avoided are: salt, deli meat, frozen pizza, pickles, canned soups, canned or bottled tomato products, excessive sugar, chicken skin, and alcohol, to name a few. Consult with your physician on a regimen that will keep you healthy.

DASH Diet 4 HBP: Discuss with your Dr. The best proven eating plan is called the DASH Diet. Go to NIH.gov and learn about it and follow it. It is as good as one pill in many. Systolic is down in 1 week and Diastolic in 2 if followed exactly. Discuss this eating plan with your Dr. You can use the app Cronometer to track your Na and K intake. Goal <1,500 mg Na and >4,700 mg K. Discuss with your team first tho.
