About PPI's...: Proton pump inhibitors (PPI's) used for treating acid reflux should not interact with typical over-the-counter cough and cold medications. That said, ibuprofen and other NSAID's or aspirin may irritate one's stomach or esophagus and worsen reflux symptoms. Acetaminophen doesn't irritate the stomach. PPI's include omeprazole, lansoprazole, esomeprazole, etc...
