Can call the lab: Depends on the details, such as where such words appeared, what led a person to interact with the lab, etc... A reagent is a substance a lab technician adds as part of a chemical reaction or lab test. If the lab had no reagent, that may mean the lab was not capable of doing that particular test. The answer can usually be found by calling the lab.
