TB prevention: Anyone who was in your grandfather's home while he was coughing needs TB testing. You or your doctor(s) should contact the public health department for advice about exactly who needs testing and what test(s) use. Probably mostly skin testing; and if negative, perhaps repeat skin test a few weeks later. In some cases, a chest xray may be recommended. Good luck.

Continue to monitor: Your grandfather should begin treatment as soon as possible. An evaluation of his radiograph and treatment plan may be booked online with Healthtap. All contacts including friends and family should be screened for TB. Monitor for symptoms such as cough, weight loss and fever.
