Go to ER now: Any change in sensation is troubling. It may be nothing more than a problem with your teeth but it could signify something more serious (including a possible artery blockage or small bleed in the brain). Go to an ER and get checked now to be safe.

Nerve: In my experience recurrent sensations like that, if they involve only a tiny territory of the face, are not indicative of significant pathology but are most likely caused by some irritability of a superficial facial nerve and eventually resolve. Larger patches of recurrent numbness, especially with other body parts on the same or other side require investigation preferably by a neurologist.
