Basics: Gastritis is just a simple label for anything that triggers irritation of the inner linings of the stomach. Since alcohol has a direct toxic effect on the stomach lining the label is likely valid for your stomach pain. The diarrhea is just an add on symptom that reflects poor absorption within the intestines.
