If ... associated...: Eye Floaters can be black dots, wiggly threadlike particles that float inside the Eye and distort or cause transient obstruction of vision when the eyes move. Most are benign but if the numbers increase suddenly or if there is associates trauma, bleeding, Inflammation or diseases like Diabetes/Hypertension one should see the Eye Consult for evaluation and management.

Floaters: That would be a common symptoms associated with floaters which are proteinaceous particles that float in the vitreous of your eye. Are you diabetic. At 18 you would be young to have floaters. Probably good idea to see your eye doctor or optometrist.
