Not if alone: Normal men, women, boys, and girls masturbate (it's universal). It is not harmful, as the body goes through similar effects during regular sex with a partner (but too much of anything may become a problem). Masturbation does not stunt height, cause acne or hair loss, make you weak, create heart problems, lower testosterone, affect virginity, lower fertility, change your weight, or damage vision.

Virginity concept: The most universal definition of virginity is lack of partner sexual activity. Self sex or masturbation does not count. Some get hung up on the presence of the hymen, a filmy door like structure at the entrance to the vagina. Since some are born without it or it is lost in non sexual activity it is not a valid universal marker. There are also forms of partner sex that avoid the vagina.
