I take the antidepressant prozac, but i have really bad periods and im currently having one and i just need to know if i can take midol or ibuprofen or advil with prozac and it wont react badly. ?

Consult with a: physician or pharmacist for a more definitive answer. I'm a psychologist, but have had LOTS of patients with this complaint and question about meds compatibility. I researched this and found not undue risks of combining an SSRI and and the OTC pain relievers you mentioned. Do get medical advice before doing this, so you aren't just taking the non-medical advice of a shrink.

Prozac / advil/midol: Prozac thins your blood as does ibuprofen together there may be an increase in blood thinning/ bleeding potential. Would take then 2 hours apart and a low dose ibuprofen 200 mg no more than 3 x /day Midol contain Tylenol, antihistamine , caffeine .Anti-histamines cause drowsiness as can Prozac so take then 2 hours apart. Of the 2 I think Midol is safer. f/u/w/ MD
