A member asked:

I am bipolar and i am 11 weeks pregnant i am being irrational with all those around me, where am battling severe morning sickness, do i go to casualty ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Psychiatrist. ER.: Pregnancy and psychiatric illnesses do happen together. Maternal psychiatric illness is not good for a pregnant woman and surely is bad for the baby after delivery. That means a woman with such a condition must work closely with her psychiatrist, her primary care doctor, and her Ob-Gyn doctor before-during-after pregnancy. Psychiatric meds often need to continue during those times.
