Hi, my 18month old daughter has had a fever for 24hrs. struggling to break it. gp says ear, nose, throat and chest are clear. she has large nasty red bite on her hand (thought it was mozzi bite). could it be tick fever? what would symptoms be?

Infected bite: It's very likely that the bite is complicated by a bacterial infection as evidenced by redness and fever. I recommend urgent evaluation and institution of appropriate antibiotics systemically, if deemed advisable after assessment, as well as treatment of the bite site. Take your child to the hospital emergency room now for prompt care.
