Mother knows best: The best person to ask about one's MGM (if MGM is not available) is one's mother. For a college-aged person, hopefully his mother and his MGM are both still well and able to give a good family history. Getting a summary of one's family history is helpful for the doctor during routine check-ups and health screenings. Mother can also relay information about MGF (maternal grandfather).
