Hard to guess...: Depending on a person's allergy history and what meds are available, a person might take different actions. Hard to guess where the swelling will stop, so a person generally has to call 911 for an ambulance to go to the ER. If there is NO access to help, one can take antihistamines like Benadryl or Claritin; and can ask if anyone has EpiPen (to inject into a thigh if tongue and throat swell up).
