Ambulance, ER time: A person in her 90's with chest pain and shortness of breath needs the paramedics to take her to the ER. That means not waiting at home to see if it turns into a bad problem. As the saying goes, "better safe than sorry." Heart problems include rhythm problems, pericarditis, heart attack, etc... Lung problems include pleurisy or pneumothorax. Esophageal problems include reflux and esophagitis.
