Stage Cancer: After diagnosis of lung cancer is made the next step is to accurately stage the cancer so that appropriate therapy can be discussed. 25% of lung cancers are Stage I or II at diagnosis and are treated with surgery. 75% of lung cancers are Stage III or IV. Selected Stage III cancers may be treated for cure with multi-modality treatment. Palliative treatment is used for most Stage III & all Stage IV
