A member asked:

Hi, i have a pain on the left side of my stomach. just below the ribs. its day 2 now with it. what causes it and what can i do to make it go away?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can examine: Many things are in the upper abdomen: stomach, pancreas, liver, small intestine, gall bladder, large intestine, abdominal muscles, etc... An exam by a primary care doctor canbe helpful. The stomach itself and the spleen are in the left upper abdomen. Discomfort in the right upper abdomen, plus symptoms that occur after meals, may be due to gallstones or other gall bladder disease.
