Evaluation : Consider seeing an Obgyn for an evaluation to make sure no infections are present. Consider trying a silicone based sexual lubricant. This simple solution often solves this common complaint.

Depends: It depends on the nature of the burn, its depth and location. Most burns can be treated with aloe vera gel application. Hydrocortisone may be helpful in first degree burns. Second degree burns will need to have the blisters opened sterily and treated with antimicrobial ointments and/or oral antibiotics. Third/fourth degree require certain surgical procedures and grafting.

How can you treat chemical burns?

Dr. Kenneth Cheng
Family Medicine 31 years experience
Depends: Treatment of chemical burns will depend on the type of chemical one is exposed to. In a workplace environment, osha requires that a msds (material safety data sheet) be onsite. The msds will have treatment recommendations for that particular chemical. Also bring a copy of the msds to the emergency room or doctors office. Best to see a doctor for any burns.

Can you get lymphedema from burns?

Dr. Oliver Aalami
Vascular Surgery 23 years experience
Unlikely: Burns cause a break in the skin which leads to massive fluid losses. Unless lymphedema was present before the burn, it is unlikely to have occured due to the burn. Studies which have looked for an association have failed to find one.
