Chest pain: There may be an irritated or inflamed intercostal nerve or strained muscle that runs between 2 ribs and gets pinched with motion like a deep breath. The other possibility is actual rib injury or other rib pathology. This would be a tender area. If symptom persists have your physician examine you. A rib xray may be advised. Most of these issues resolve eventually.Avoid strain of rib cage.
