Took a small dose of ativan for two days. then switched to xanax the next day (after 24 hours) for panic attacks. felt strange feeling at first, then subsided. would these two interact or should be ok with not taking at exact same time?

Similar meds: Xanax and Ativan are both benzodiazepine class and similar in action in the body with the exception that Xanax has a shorter 1/2 life, meaning it does not act as long. Any interaction would be additive in nature. While either could be used for anxiety, they should not be used at the same time.
