I am currently using the nexplanon as a form of contraceptive. i've had it for a 1yr and some months but it seems to make me fatter and messes with my period. i would like to remove it and go for a patch instead. does this also cause weight gain?

Patch is more likely: to affect your weight than Nexplanon. Weight gain is likely from worsening insulin resistance/carbohydrate sensitivity. Testing with your doctor is useful to consider.
