Confusing post: Group B strep is a germ common to the digestive tract/fecal debris. As many as 1/3 of women are found to carry it in their genital tract passively, returning off & on through life. It occasionally triggers a UTI. It is considered of minimal importance unless a woman is pregnant & then only as linked to MC and infection of the newborn after the bag of waters ruptures.
