Is it ill-advised to use antacids too often?

Possibly: It depends on how often and how many you are using. If you are taking several tabs a day for several days in a row, then you probably need to see a doctor to make sure something more severe isn't going on. Also, don't ever take more than the recommended amount per day, because antacids all contain minerals that you can overdose on if you take too much.

GI problem: If you have to take antiacids frequently- that means you may have significant problems with your stomach and you may need to see a GI specialist. Talk to your primary care doctor who can refer you to see GI doctor. In addition, taking too much antiacid may block absorption certain nutrients including iron from food. You may have iron deficiency anemia and that can make you feel tired
