A member asked:

A 34years old's menses stopped about 10years ago as a result of excessive bleeding due to retained placenta and evacuation was carried out. what's her chance of seeing her menses again and possibly having more kids?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Minimal but possible: If the retained placenta and subsequent D & C was too vigorous then the endometrium (lining of the womb) may be scarred an destroyed. A GYN MD exam can use hormones to test for the menses and/or use ultrasound to see if the endometrium is fused to the inner uterine muscle.(Asherman's Syndrome). Have her see a GYN MD for further information.
