A member asked:

Do you need a script for norethisterone? or is there an alternative medication that can delay a period?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Period delay ?'s: The only way to "delay a period" (except pregnancy) is to be on low dose oral bcp's continuously without a break with the "sugar pills". Of course you must begin the active pills on the first few days of a "real" menstrual event, and continue them without stopping the active pills. Make sure you take them within the hour of the prior day's active pill, or breakthrough bleeding can occur.
