Flu: True influenza is characterized by headache, generalized muscle aches, fever chills, weakness, with runny nose and cough. Worrisome symptoms would be very severe headache, high fever, deep productive cough, chest distress, shortness of breath or wheezing with worsening of symptoms instead of gradual improvement of them. Such symptoms warrant an examination by a physician as soon as possible in ER.
