Time to see a doctor: A person with palpitations should be checked by his primary care doctor to make sure his body is ok from a general check-up point of view, and to listen to his heart. A cardiology evaluation, EKG, and 24-hour heart recorder may be needed. He should be sure to write down his symptoms in a calendar diary to show the doctor. Include meds, recreational drugs, caffeine, supplements, activities, etc...
