Great idea!: The Pap smear test (cervical smear) looks at cells from the cervix, checking for cervical cancer and for precancerous changes on the cervix. The cervix connects a woman's vagina to her uterus (womb). A Pap smear does not directly check the vagina, because swabbing the cervix to get cells for the smear mainly collects cervical cells.
