Doctor can examine: 17 is young in the grand scheme of things. Sex is not required at 17. Life is about transitions and there are plenty of things a teen can be doing to grow into her college years; things that have lower emotional intensity or psychological risk, less infection risk or chance of pregnancy, etc. That said, teens heal well, so small rips or tears in the correct or incorrect holes usually self-resolve.
