I am taking the hpv vaccination. i took the 1st dose on sep 5 and the 2nd dose on oct 4, and will take the last dose on march 3. i never had sex before. does it matter if i want to have sex for the first time this month (between the 2nd and 3rd dose?

Basics: You likely have adequate protection now but only from the strains present in the vaccine. Completing the series adds years to protection.The Gardacil 9 includes 2 of the 4 strains known to cause genital warts & 7 of the strains representing the high (cancer) risk. This is the best protection we have to date, but there are no guarantees sexual activity may bring you an unwanted other STD.
