Dr. or ER can check: A person who gets repeated faintness, whether it is a lightheadedness where the room looks dimmed, or everything goes dark, should be evaluated by his or her primary care doctor (or the ER) to see what is going on. The doctor or ER may refer to a cardiologist if arrhythmia is suspected. Sometimes, the problem is not having enough blood go to the head, such as in dehydration or anemia.
