Pain: 8 percent of people who take Clarithromycin will have stomach pain. It is a macrolide antibiotic and a cousin of erythomycin and common for this medication. You are also being treated for a stomach problem. If no vomiting and if symptoms not severe you should try to finish treatment. You can call your provider if too intolerant. There are other choices.
