A member asked:

Im 9 weeks pregnant. are essential oils safe to use in an air diffuser? are there any that can cause harm to my baby? there is a lot of conflicting advice online. some say yes, some say no. are there any to avoid and any that are good?

Not known but...: Nobody knows for sure whether the variety of oils or other incense-type things are good, bad, or neutral for pregnant women. Haven't seen any reports of bad stuff happening, but there is no practical way for researchers to study the wide variety of items sold for aroma purposes. Thus, it's better to be safe, meaning avoiding unnecessary airborne chemicals may be the wiser choice.
